Texas High School Basketball - Azle ripped by Aledo

(January 13, 2012: Aledo, TX 76008) The Aledo Bearcats basketball team scored 61 points and held the visiting Azle Hornets to 29 in the Bearcats league triumph on Friday.

The Bearcats now sport a 21-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Birdville for a 4A Region I District 5 contest on Tuesday, January 17. Aledo will meet a Hawks team coming off a 42-39 league loss to Boswell (Fort Worth, TX). The Hawks record now stands at 12-12.

The Hornets (4-15) will now prepare for their contest against Brewer (Fort Worth, TX). The Bears enter the 4A Region I District 5 contest with a 9-14 record. In their last contest, Brewer was routed by Byron Nelson (Trophy Club, TX), 49-34, in a league contest.
