Arkansas High School Basketball - Wickes holds off De Queen
(January 5, 2012: Wickes, AR 71973) Wickes Warriors (Wickes, AR) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting De Queen Leopards (De Queen, AR), 43-38 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Wickes upgrades its record to 3-1 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Eagletown (Eagletown, OK) to play the Eagles in a non-league test on Friday, January 6. The Eagles go into the test with a record of 4-7. Eagletown lost 57-30 in their recent league test against Haworth (Haworth, OK)
The Leopards now own a 8-4 record. They take the field next when they host Pulaski Academy for a 4A Region 7 test on Friday, January 6. De Queen will clash with a Bruins squad coming off a 66-41 non-league win over Batesville (Batesville, AR). The Bruins record now stands at 11-4.
