New York High School Basketball - Hornell nips Wayland-Cohocton
(January 8, 2010: Hornell, NY 14843) Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Hornell Red Raiders (Hornell, NY) and the visiting Wayland-Cohocton Eagles (Wayland, NY), saw Hornell's basketball squad hold off Wayland-Cohocton by a score of 62-56.
With the victory, Hornell improves its record to 4-4 on the campaign. The Red Raiders travel to Caledonia-Mumford (Caledonia, NY) to battle the Raiders in a non-league challenge on Monday, January 11. The Raiders come into the challenge with a record of 5-3. Caledonia-Mumford won 58-37 in their recent league challenge against Warsaw (Warsaw, NY)
Next up, the Eagles battle the Perry Yellowjackets (Perry, NY) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 12. Wayland-Cohocton will attempt to improve on its 4-5 season record. The Yellowjackets come into the challenge with a 6-2 record after their 63-43 league win over Keshequa (Nunda, NY).
