California High School Basketball - Menlo-Atherton can't hold off Half Moon Bay

(January 11, 2012: Atherton, CA 94027) The Half Moon Bay Cougars basketball team scored 45 points and held the host Menlo-Atherton Bears to 42 in the Cougars league triumph on Wednesday.

The Cougars now sport a 12-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Carlmont for a Peninsula - Ocean contest on Friday, January 13. Half Moon Bay will meet a Scots team coming off a 46-39 league win over Westmoor (Daly City, CA). The Scots record now stands at 6-8.

The Bears (7-7) will now prepare for their contest against South San Francisco (South San Francisco, CA). The Warriors enter the Peninsula - Ocean contest with a 5-9 record. In their last contest, South San Francisco was nudged by Aragon (San Mateo, CA), 63-48, in a league contest.
