(August 25, 2006: Benton, TN 37307) The Polk County Wildcats toppled the visiting Andrews Wildcats football squad by a final score of 49-21 in Friday's non-league outing.
The Wildcats now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to East Ridge for a 3A Region 3 outing on Friday, September 1. Polk County will confront a Pioneers squad coming off a 28-10 non-league loss to Baylor (Chattanooga, TN). The Pioneers record now stands at 0-2.
With the defeat, Andrews moves to 0-2 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Towns County (Hiawassee, GA) to confront the Indians in a non-league outing on Friday, September 1. The Indians go into the outing with a record of 0-0.
