(January 10, 2012: Amherst, VA 24521) The Glass Hilltoppers basketball team (Lynchburg, VA), was nudged 53-51 in Tuesday's league battle with the host Amherst County Lancers (Amherst, VA)

The Lancers now possess a 7-5 record. They play next when they host Liberty for a AA Seminole battle on Friday, January 13. Amherst County will battle a Minutemen team coming off a 60-53 non-league win over Byrd (Vinton, VA). The Minutemen record now stands at 4-7.

The Hilltoppers (4-8) will now prepare for their battle against Heritage (Lynchburg, VA). The Pioneers come into the AA Seminole battle with a 7-3 record. In their last battle, Heritage edged Jefferson Forest (Forest, VA), 60-55, in a league battle.
