(October 21, 2011: Newport, NC 28570) In Friday's league game, the Croatan Cougars (Newport, NC) football team knocked off the visiting South Lenoir Blue Devils (Deep Run, NC), by a score of 26-7.
The Cougars (4-5) will now prepare for their game against Richlands (Richlands, NC). The Wildcats come into the 2A East Central game with a 3-7 record. In their last game, Richlands was dropped by Topsail (Hampstead, NC), 43-7, in a league game.
The Blue Devils now own a 2-8 record. They play next when they host Clinton for a 2A East Central contest on Friday, October 28. South Lenoir will encounter a Dark Horses squad coming off a 48-20 league loss to Northside (Jacksonville, NC). The Dark Horses record now stands at 1-9.
