Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Cumberland Valley holds off Hopewell
(December 27, 2011: Mechanicsburg, PA 17050) Cumberland Valley Eagles (Mechanicsburg, PA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad nip the visiting Hopewell Vikings (Aliquippa, PA), 58-51 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Cumberland Valley upgrades its record to 3-4 on the season. The Eagles travel to South Fayette (McDonald, PA) to play the Lions in a non-league bout on Wednesday, December 28. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 5-2. South Fayette won 55-46 in their recent non-league bout against Aliquippa (Aliquippa, PA)
Next up, the Vikings play the Ambridge Bridgers (Ambridge, PA) in a WPIAL AAA 2 bout, on Tuesday, January 3. Hopewell will attempt to upgrade on its 2-4 season record. The Bridgers go into the bout with a 2-5 record after their 85-53 non-league loss to Beaver Falls (Beaver Falls, PA).
