(October 6, 2006: Naples, FL 34120) The Palmetto Ridge Bears held off the visiting Key West Conchs football squad by a final score of 24-17 in Friday's non-league outing.

The Bears now sport a 4-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Lely for a 3A District 14 outing on Friday, October 13. Palmetto Ridge will confront a Trojans squad coming off a 55-21 non-league win over LaBelle (LaBelle, FL). The Trojans record now stands at 4-3.

With the defeat, Key West moves to 2-5 on the campaign. The Conchs host Archbishop McCarthy (Fort Lauderdale, FL) to face the Mavericks in a 3A District 16 contest on Friday, October 13. The Mavericks enter the contest with a record of 2-4. Archbishop McCarthy lost 31-23 in their recent non-league contest against Golden Gate (Naples, FL)
