New Jersey High School Football - Liberty routed by Holmdel
(October 12, 2007: Holmdel, NJ 07733) In Friday's non-league game, the Holmdel Hornets (Holmdel, NJ) football team smashed the visiting Liberty Lions (Jackson, NJ), by a score of 40-0.
The Hornets (5-0) will now prepare for their game against Monsignor Donovan (Toms River, NJ). The Griffins come into the Shore - National game with a 2-3 record. In their last game, Monsignor Donovan overwhelmed St. John-Vianney (Holmdel, NJ), 26-19, in a league game.
The Lions now sport a 1-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Long Island Lutheran for a non-league game on Saturday, October 20. Liberty will battle a Crusaders team coming off a 32-22 non-league win over Peekskill (Peekskill, NY). The Crusaders record now stands at 6-0.
