(January 10, 2012: Levelland, TX 79336) In Tuesday's league outing, the Cooper Pirates (Lubbock, TX) basketball squad overwhelmed the host Levelland Lobos (Levelland, TX), by a margin of 47-24.

The Pirates (19-4) will now prepare for their outing against Lamesa (Lamesa, TX). The Tornadoes go into the 3A Region I District 2 outing with a 5-7 record. In their last outing, Lamesa was trounced by Shallowater (Shallowater, TX), 62-27, in a league outing.

With the defeat, Levelland moves to 10-12 on the year. The Lobos travel to Estacado (Lubbock, TX) to confront the Matadors in a 3A Region I District 2 match on Tuesday, January 17. The Matadors enter the match with a record of 11-10. Estacado won 56-43 in their recent league match against Brownfield (Brownfield, TX)
