(January 14, 2012: Grenada, MS 38901) In Saturday's non-league outing, the Charleston Tigers (Charleston, MS) basketball squad edged the host Grenada Chargers (Grenada, MS), by a count of 67-66.

The Tigers (9-6) will now prepare for their outing against Independence (Independence, MS). The Wildcats go into the 3A Region 3 outing with a 10-12 record. In their last outing, Independence nipped Byers (Holly Springs, MS), 69-63, in a non-league outing.

The Chargers now hold a 10-9 record. They take the field next when they host Tupelo for a 6A Region 2 outing on Friday, January 20. Grenada will encounter a Golden Wave squad coming off a 49-41 league win over Columbus (Columbus, MS). The Golden Wave record now stands at 15-6.
