Florida High School Basketball - Wiregrass Ranch can't hold off Gulf

(January 15, 2009: New Port Richey, FL 34652) The Gulf Buccaneers basketball team scored 46 points and restricted the visiting Wiregrass Ranch Bulls to 41 in the Buccaneers league victory on Thursday.

The Buccaneers now sport a 16-3 record. They play next when they travel to Mitchell for a 6A District 7 contest on Friday, January 16. Gulf will meet a Mustangs team coming off a 50-25 league win over River Ridge (New Port Richey, FL). The Mustangs record now stands at 9-6.

The Bulls (17-2) will now prepare for their contest against Zephyrhills (Zephyrhills, FL). The Bulldogs come into the non-league contest with a 4-11 record. In their last contest, Zephyrhills was nudged by Pasco (Dade City, FL), 44-34, in a league contest.
