Florida High School Basketball - Mitchell overwhelms Gaither

(December 12, 2008: New Port Richey, FL 34655) Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Mitchell Mustangs (New Port Richey, FL) and the visiting Gaither Cowboys (Tampa, FL), saw Mitchell's basketball squad trounce Gaither by a score of 67-44.

With the victory, Mitchell improves its record to 5-3 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Land O'Lakes (Land O'Lakes, FL) to play the Gators in a non-league challenge on Thursday, December 18. The Gators come into the challenge with a record of 4-5. Land O'Lakes lost 49-42 in their recent league challenge against Ridgewood (New Port Richey, FL)

Next up, the Cowboys play the Tarpon Springs Spongers (Tarpon Springs, FL) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, December 19. Gaither will attempt to improve on its 2-5 season record. The Spongers come into the challenge with a 6-4 record after their 43-35 league win over Dunedin (Dunedin, FL).
