Arizona High School Basketball - Sabino holds off Santa Rita

(January 17, 2012: Tucson, AZ 85749) Sabino Sabercats (Tucson, AZ) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Santa Rita Eagles (Tucson, AZ), 59-53 in a league bout.

With the victory, Sabino upgrades its record to 4-17 on the campaign. The Sabercats host Catalina Foothills (Tucson, AZ) to play the Falcons in a II Section I bout on Thursday, January 19. The Falcons come into the bout with a record of 15-3. Catalina Foothills won 67-62 in their recent league bout against Palo Verde (Tucson, AZ)

Next up, the Eagles play the Cienega Bobcats (Vail, AZ) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 20. Santa Rita will attempt to upgrade on its 1-19 season record. The Bobcats come into the bout with a 9-9 record after their 65-44 non-league win over Douglas (Douglas, AZ).
