Texas High School Basketball - Cayuga falls to LaPoynor

(January 17, 2012: LaRue, TX 75770) The LaPoynor Flyers basketball team scored 51 points and held the visiting Cayuga Wildcats to 43 in the Flyers league triumph on Tuesday.

The Flyers now sport a 4-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Cross Roads for a 1A-1 Region III District 20 contest on Friday, January 20. LaPoynor will confront a Bobcats team coming off a 51-33 league loss to Hawkins (Hawkins, TX). The Bobcats record now stands at 1-6.

The Wildcats (12-10) will now prepare for their contest against Big Sandy (Big Sandy, TX). The Wildcats enter the 1A-1 Region III District 20 contest with a 1-7 record. In their last contest, Big Sandy lost by Martins Mill (Ben Wheeler, TX), 78-15, in a league contest.
