(September 29, 2006: Murphy, NC 28906) The Cherokee Braves ran past the host Murphy Bulldogs football squad by a final score of 40-19 in Friday's league outing.
The Braves now sport a 6-0 record. They take the field next when they host Swain County for a Smoky Mountain match on Friday, October 13. Cherokee will encounter a Maroon Devils team coming off a 27-18 league win over Hayesville (Hayesville, NC). The Maroon Devils record now stands at 2-5.
The Bulldogs (3-4) will now prepare for their match against Robbinsville (Robbinsville, NC). The Black Knights come into the Smoky Mountain match with a 2-4 record. In their last match, Robbinsville prevailed over Andrews (Andrews, NC), 36-12, in a league match.
