Countryside Cougars (Clearwater, FL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host
Mitchell Mustangs (New Port Richey, FL),
2-0 in a non-league challenge.
The Cougars now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host
Sickles for a
challenge on Tuesday, February 17.
Countryside will battle a Gryphons squad coming off a
6-2 non-league loss to
Pinellas Park (Largo, FL). The Gryphons record now stands at 7-1.
With the loss,
Mitchell falls to 1-1 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to
Gaither (Tampa, FL) to battle the Cowboys in a
6A District 7 game on Tuesday, February 17. The Cowboys come into the game with a record of 3-2.
Gaither won
9-4 in their recent non-league game against
Osceola (Seminole, FL)
