Texas High School Basketball - Spring nips Tomball

(January 24, 2012: Tomball, TX 77375) Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Spring Lions (Spring, TX) and the host Tomball Cougars (Tomball, TX), saw Spring's basketball squad hold off Tomball by a score of 48-42.

With the victory, Spring improves its record to 13-15 on the campaign. The Lions host Dekaney (Houston, TX) to battle the Wildcats in a 5A Region II District 13 challenge on Friday, January 27. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a record of 20-9. Dekaney lost 62-57 in their recent league contest against Westfield (Houston, TX)

The Cougars (11-15) will now prepare for their contest against Klein Forest (Houston, TX). The Eagles come into the 5A Region II District 13 contest with a 19-8 record. In their last contest, Klein Forest edged Klein (Klein, TX), 51-49, in a league contest.
