New Mexico High School Basketball - Valley crushes West Mesa

(February 9, 2012: Albuquerque, NM 87121) Valley Vikings (Albuquerque, NM) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host West Mesa Mustangs (Albuquerque, NM), 61-33 in a league bout.

With the victory, Valley upgrades its record to 8-14 on the campaign. The Vikings host Rio Grande (Albuquerque, NM) to play the Ravens in a 5A District 5 bout on Wednesday, February 15. The Ravens come into the bout with a record of 12-10. Rio Grande lost 54-44 in their recent league bout against Highland (Albuquerque, NM)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Albuquerque Bulldogs (Albuquerque, NM) in a 5A District 5 bout, on Wednesday, February 15. West Mesa will attempt to upgrade on its 6-17 season record. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a 7-15 record after their 37-36 non-league win over Albuquerque Academy (Albuquerque, NM).
