Florida High School Baseball - Collier gets by Port Charlotte

(March 18, 2009: Port Charlotte, FL 33948) Collier Cougars (Naples, FL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the host Port Charlotte Pirates (Port Charlotte, FL), 5-3 in a non-league test.

With the win, Collier upgrades its record to 7-5 on the season. The Cougars travel to North Fort Myers (North Fort Myers, FL) to battle the Red Knights in a 5A District 15 test on Friday, March 20. The Red Knights come into the test with a record of 4-8. North Fort Myers lost 12-2 in their recent league test against Gulf Coast (Naples, FL)

With the defeat, Port Charlotte falls to 9-3 on the season. The Pirates host Lakewood Ranch (Bradenton, FL) to battle the Mustangs in a 5A District 12 test on Friday, March 20. The Mustangs come into the test with a record of 2-6. Lakewood Ranch lost 6-3 in their recent league test against North Port (North Port, FL)
