Texas High School Basketball - Mexia prevails McGregor

(December 29, 2011: McGregor, TX 76657) Mexia Black Cats (Mexia, TX) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host McGregor Bulldogs (McGregor, TX), 56-41 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Mexia upgrades its record to 16-5 on the season. The Black Cats host Fairfield (Fairfield, TX) to encounter the Eagles in a 3A Region III District 20 bout on Friday, January 6. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 13-6.

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Rosebud-Lott Cougars (Rosebud, TX) in a 2A Region II District 16 challenge, on Tuesday, January 10. McGregor will attempt to improve on its 3-5 season record.
