(December 16, 2011: Taylor, MI 48180) Truman Cougars (Taylor, MI) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Roosevelt Bears (Wyandotte, MI), 63-51 in a league bout.

With the win, Truman upgrades its record to 3-0 on the season. The Cougars travel to Southwestern (Detroit, MI) to encounter the Prospectors in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 27. The Prospectors go into the bout with a record of 0-3. Southwestern lost 79-41 in their recent league bout against Cass Tech (Detroit, MI)

Next up, the Bears encounter the Dearborn Pioneers (Dearborn, MI) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 20. Roosevelt will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record. The Pioneers go into the bout with a 3-0 record after their 74-67 league win over Edsel Ford (Dearborn, MI).
