Virginia High School Basketball - Glass prevails Monticello

(January 27, 2012: Lynchburg, VA 24501) Glass Hilltoppers (Lynchburg, VA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Monticello Mustangs (Charlottesville, VA), 50-33 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Glass upgrades its record to 7-10 on the season. The Hilltoppers host Liberty (Bedford, VA) to play the Minutemen in a AA Seminole bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Minutemen go into the bout with a record of 5-12. Liberty lost 59-48 in their recent league bout against Jefferson Forest (Forest, VA)

Next up, the Mustangs face the Louisa County Lions (Mineral, VA) in a AA Jefferson game, on Tuesday, January 31. Monticello will attempt to move on its 9-9 season record. The Lions enter the game with a 10-9 record after their 49-31 league loss to Powhatan (Powhatan, VA).
