Florida High School Soccer - Berkeley Prep knocks off Ransom Everglades

(December 5, 2008: Tampa, FL 33615) Berkeley Prep Buccaneers (Tampa, FL) supporters were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their soccer team prevail over the visiting Ransom Everglades Raiders (Miami, FL), 4-0 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Buccaneers battle the Northside Christian Mustangs (St. Petersburg, FL) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, December 13. Berkeley Prep will attempt to better on its 7-0 season record. The Mustangs go into the challenge with a 0-0 record after their 1-1 non-league Cambridge (Tampa, FL).

The Raiders now possess a 1-1 record. They play next when they travel to Clearwater Central Catholic for a non-league challenge on Saturday, December 6. Ransom Everglades will battle a Marauders team coming off a 5-0 league loss to Lennard (Ruskin, FL). The Marauders record now stands at 0-3.
Scoring Summary
First Quarter Summary:
Visiting Ransom Everglades held the Berkeley Prep Bucs to only one goal on 9 shots in the 1st half. JD Post scored for the Bucs on a pass from Eri Jacobs. The left-footed midfield took a few touches past the Ransom defense to slot the ball far post to beat the out-stretch Raiders' keeper. The Bucs defense was equally as tough, shutting down the Ransom attack and holding them to one shot on goal.
Second Quarter Summary:
The Bucs came out the second half and outshot the Raiders 11 to three, scoring three goals in the second half. Jordan Crockett got his first goal of the season from a through ball from JD Post. Crockett took the through ball one one one and fired it into the top corner of the net to give the Bucs a two goal lead. Eri Jacobs got the third goal of the game off a corner kick. He took a pass from Joey Rosati to rifle a shot into the back of the net. Kevin Yent rounded out the scoring in the last 3 minutes of the game, getting his head on a cross from JD Post.
