Game Story

California High School Basketball - Strake Jesuit thwarts Jesuit

(December 6, 2008: Carmichael, CA 95608) The Strake Jesuit Crusaders (Houston, TX) basketball felled the host Jesuit Marauders (Carmichael, CA), 67-55 in Saturday's non-league test.

The Crusaders (11-0) will now prepare for their test against Westbrook (Westbrook, TX). The Wildcats go into the non-league test with a 0-0 record.

The Marauders now own a 2-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Antioch for a non-league test on Thursday, December 11. Jesuit will encounter a Panthers squad coming off a 62-40 non-league loss to Clayton Valley (Concord, CA). The Panthers record now stands at 2-1.

Scoring Summary

First Quarter Summary:: In the Championship game vs the host Jesuit Marauders, the Jesuit Crusaders found themselves in familiar territory facing off against a good home team with a large and very loud home crowd.
Third Quarter Summary:: The Marauders saw Jesuit's Tim Frazier go on a layup frenzy throughout the game as he sliced through the defense to set up other teammates.
Fourth Quarter Summary:: Even though they were up by as many as 14 late, the Crusaders saw the Marauders make one more push to try to take the upper hand late. The Crusaders would hit big shots and control the final 30 seconds of play to win the tournament Championship game.
