(December 9, 2011: Cameron, NC 28326) The Douglas Byrd Eagles basketball team scored 63 points and held the host Union Pines Vikings to 50 in the Eagles league triumph on Friday.

The Eagles now sport a 2-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Westover for a 3A Cape Fear Valley contest on Monday, December 12. Douglas Byrd will confront a Wolverines team coming off a 73-52 league win over Overhills (Spring Lake, NC). The Wolverines record now stands at 2-3.

The Vikings (4-2) will now prepare for their contest against Overhills (Spring Lake, NC). The Jaguars enter the 3A Cape Fear Valley contest with a 1-5 record. In their last contest, Overhills was defeated by Westover (Fayetteville, NC), 73-52, in a league contest.
