(October 24, 2009: Staten Island, NY 10312) In Saturday's league game, the St. Joseph-by-the-Sea Vikings (Staten Island, NY) football team were victorious over the visiting Iona Prep Gaels (New Rochelle, NY), by a score of 42-28.
The Vikings (6-0) will now prepare for their game against Holy Cross (Flushing, NY). The Knights come into the Catholic AAA-AA game with a 5-2 record. In their last game, Holy Cross was knocked off by St. Anthony's (Melville, NY), 30-28, in a league game.
The Gaels now sport a 2-5 record. They take the field next when they host Monsignor Farrell for a Catholic AAA-AA game on Saturday, October 31. Iona Prep will battle a Lions team coming off a 10-7 league loss to Chaminade (Mineola, NY). The Lions record now stands at 3-4.
