(March 3, 2009: Brandon, FL 33510) Brandon Eagles (Brandon, FL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the visiting Armwood Hawks (Seffner, FL), 10-7 in a league test.

With the win, Brandon upgrades its record to 5-0 on the season. The Eagles travel to Tampa Bay Tech (Tampa, FL) to battle the Titans in a 5A District 8 test on Friday, March 6. The Titans come into the test with a record of 1-6. Tampa Bay Tech lost 5-3 in their recent non-league test against Durant (Plant City, FL)

With the defeat, Armwood drops to 5-1 on the campaign. The Hawks host Wharton (Tampa, FL) to play the Wildcats in a 5A District 8 battle on Friday, March 6. The Wildcats enter the battle with a record of 2-3. Wharton lost 4-2 in their recent league battle against Bloomingdale (Valrico, FL)
Scoring Summary

The Hawks scored three runs in the top of the first, then gave up 10 runs in the bottom of the inning, and were never able to catch up as the team lost 10-7 to Brandon last night at the Eagle's Nest. The Hawks out hit Brandon 10-6. Zack Powers came in to pitch in the second and allowed no hits in five innings of work, striking out five. Kristian Calibuso went 3 for 4 with five RBI, Zack Powers got two hits, and Tyler Alexander hit a single and a double. Brandon had a leadoff homerun in the bottom of the first by Michael Smith and Spencer Dewey went 2 for 3 with 2rbi's and Matt Bennett had a bases loaded double with 3 rbi's to lead the Eagles and help them stay undefeated this season. The Hawks are now 5-1 with a district game at home Friday night against Wharton.
