(January 5, 2012: New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168) In Thursday's non-league bout, the Father Lopez Green Waves (Daytona Beach, FL) basketball squad walloped the host New Smyrna Beach Barracudas (New Smyrna Beach, FL), by a count of 66-28.
With the win, Father Lopez upgrades its record to 17-2 on the campaign. The Green Waves travel to Lake Mary Prep (Lake Mary, FL) to battle the Griffins in a 3A District 4 battle on Friday, January 6. The Griffins come into the challenge with a record of 7-9. Lake Mary Prep lost 45-41 in their recent league challenge against Warner Christian (South Daytona, FL)
Next up, the Barracudas play the University Titans (Orange City, FL) in a 7A District 3 challenge, on Tuesday, January 10. New Smyrna Beach will attempt to upgrade on its 4-8 season record. The Titans come into the challenge with a 4-8 record after their 67-15 league loss to Viera (Viera, FL).
