Arizona High School Basketball - Valley Lutheran holds off Bourgade Catholic

(December 5, 2011: Phoenix, AZ 85013) Valley Lutheran Flames (Phoenix, AZ) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad nip the visiting Bourgade Catholic Golden Eagles (Phoenix, AZ), 59-57 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Valley Lutheran upgrades its record to 2-1 on the season. The Flames travel to Phoenix Day School for the Deaf (Phoenix, AZ) to play the Roadrunners in a IV Section I bout on Tuesday, December 6. The Roadrunners go into the bout with a record of 1-4. Phoenix Day School for the Deaf lost 35-14 in their recent league bout against Veritas Prep (Phoenix, AZ)

Next up, the Golden Eagles play the Cortez Colts (Phoenix, AZ) in a III Section III bout, on Tuesday, December 6. Bourgade Catholic will attempt to upgrade on its 4-3 season record. The Colts go into the bout with a 2-2 record after their 82-53 non-league loss to Washington (Phoenix, AZ).
