(January 17, 2012: Pettus, TX 78146) The Pettus War Eagles (Pettus, TX) basketball nipped the visiting Woodsboro Eagles (Woodsboro, TX), 43-42 in Tuesday's league test.

The War Eagles (20-4) will now prepare for their test against Port Aransas (Port Aransas, TX). The Marlins go into the 1A-1 Region IV District 31 test with a 13-11 record. In their last test, Port Aransas got by Falls City (Falls City, TX), 67-38, in a league test.

The Eagles now own a 8-12 record. They take the field next when they travel to Kenedy for a 1A-1 Region IV District 31 test on Friday, January 20. Woodsboro will clash with a Lions squad coming off a 50-38 non-league loss to McMullen County (Tilden, TX). The Lions record now stands at 1-21.
