Texas High School Basketball - Yates trounces Sterling

(January 17, 2012: Houston, TX 77004) The Yates Lions (Houston, TX) basketball crushed the visiting Sterling Raiders (Houston, TX), 69-47 in Tuesday's league test.

The Lions (13-11) will now prepare for their test against Austin (Houston, TX). The Mustangs go into the 4A Region III District 21 test with a 2-8 record. In their last test, Austin was trounced by Waltrip (Houston, TX), 48-30, in a league test.

The Raiders now own a 4-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Lee for a 4A Region III District 21 test on Saturday, January 21. Sterling will clash with a Generals squad coming off a 37-27 league loss to Sharpstown (Houston, TX). The Generals record now stands at 1-14.
