(February 7, 2012: Charlotte, NC 28210) Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Butler Bulldogs (Matthews, NC) and the host South Mecklenburg Sabres (Charlotte, NC), saw Butler's basketball squad trounce South Mecklenburg by a score of 57-27.

With the victory, Butler improves its record to 13-10 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Independence (Charlotte, NC) to battle the Patriots in a 4A Southwestern challenge on Friday, February 10. The Patriots come into the challenge with a record of 6-14. Independence lost 71-29 in their recent league challenge against Myers Park (Charlotte, NC)

Next up, the Sabres battle the East Mecklenburg Eagles (Charlotte, NC) in a 4A Southwestern challenge, on Friday, February 10. South Mecklenburg will attempt to improve on its 3-20 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 5-16 record after their 54-50 league loss to Providence (Charlotte, NC).
