Tennessee High School Basketball - Kirby thwarts Tupelo

(December 30, 2011: Memphis, TN 38115) The Kirby Cougars (Memphis, TN) basketball felled the visiting Tupelo Golden Wave (Tupelo, MS), 57-46 in Friday's non-league test.

The Cougars (6-5) will now prepare for their test against Germantown (Germantown, TN). The Red Devils go into the AAA District 15 test with a 5-6 record. In their last test, Germantown went down by Ouachita Parish (Monroe, LA), 86-62, in a non-league test.

The Golden Wave now own a 9-6 record. They take the field next when they host Ashland for a non-league test on Tuesday, January 3. Tupelo will clash with a Blue Devils squad coming off a 75-55 non-league loss to Senatobia (Senatobia, MS). The Blue Devils record now stands at 4-11.
