(January 27, 2012: Carterville, IL 62918) The Pinckneyville Panthers basketball team scored 54 points and held the host Carterville Lions to 31 in the Panthers league triumph on Friday.
The Panthers now sport a 17-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Alton for a non-league contest on Saturday, January 28. Pinckneyville will confront a Redbirds team coming off a 77-72 league loss to O'Fallon (O'Fallon, IL). The Redbirds record now stands at 5-14.
The Lions (8-10) will now prepare for their contest against Benton (Benton, IL). The Rangers enter the non-league contest with a 9-7 record. In their last contest, Benton trounced Herrin (Herrin, IL), 63-57, in a league contest.
