Texas High School Basketball - Clemens falls to Canyon

(January 10, 2012: Schertz, TX 78154) The Canyon Cougars basketball team scored 48 points and held the host Clemens Buffaloes to 37 in the Cougars league triumph on Tuesday.

The Cougars now sport a 16-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Lockhart for a 4A Region IV District 27 contest on Friday, January 13. Canyon will meet a Lions team coming off a 72-61 league loss to Hays (Buda, TX). The Lions record now stands at 8-11.

The Buffaloes (8-18) will now prepare for their contest against Smithson Valley (Spring Branch, TX). The Rangers enter the 4A Region IV District 27 contest with a 9-17 record. In their last contest, Smithson Valley was defeated by Alamo Heights (San Antonio, TX), 45-38, in a league contest.
