Oregon High School Basketball - Roosevelt holds off Central
(January 6, 2012: Independence, OR 97351) Roosevelt Roughriders (Portland, OR) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Central Panthers (Independence, OR), 50-45 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Roosevelt upgrades its record to 10-3 on the campaign. The Roughriders travel to Madison (Portland, OR) to play the Senators in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 7. The Senators come into the bout with a record of 1-9. Madison lost 68-38 in their recent league bout against Jefferson (Portland, OR)
Next up, the Panthers play the Yamhill-Carlton Tigers (Yamhill, OR) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Central will attempt to upgrade on its 8-2 season record. The Tigers come into the bout with a 5-6 record after their 69-45 non-league win over Taft (Lincoln City, OR).
