(January 24, 2009: Charlotte, NC 28270) Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Charlotte Catholic Cougars (Charlotte, NC) and the host Providence Day Chargers (Charlotte, NC), saw Charlotte Catholic's basketball squad knock off Providence Day by a score of 61-41.

With the victory, Charlotte Catholic improves its record to 16-2 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Olympic (Charlotte, NC) to battle the Trojans in a Queen City challenge on Friday, January 30. The Trojans come into the challenge with a record of 5-8.

Next up, the Chargers battle the Lake Norman Wildcats (Mooresville, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, January 26. Providence Day will attempt to improve on its 13-2 season record. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a 13-3 record after their 58-39 league win over North Iredell (Olin, NC).
