(January 27, 2012: Waco, TX 76705) In Friday's league outing, the Connally Cadets (Waco, TX) basketball squad edged the host La Vega Pirates (Waco, TX), by a count of 45-43.

The Cadets (13-14) will now prepare for their outing against Gatesville (Gatesville, TX). The Hornets go into the 3A Region III District 19 outing with a 6-8 record. In their last outing, Gatesville was tipped by China Spring (China Spring, TX), 61-56, in a league outing.

The Pirates now hold a 20-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Robinson for a 3A Region III District 19 outing on Tuesday, January 31. La Vega will encounter a Rockets squad coming off a 50-40 league loss to China Spring (China Spring, TX). The Rockets record now stands at 3-9.
