New York High School Basketball - Newburgh Free Academy holds off Green Tech

(December 30, 2011: Newburgh, NY 12550) Newburgh Free Academy Goldbacks (Newburgh, NY) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Green Tech (Albany, NY), 62-59 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Newburgh Free Academy upgrades its record to 4-1 on the campaign. The Goldbacks travel to Washingtonville (Washingtonville, NY) to play the Wizards in a non-league bout on Wednesday, January 4. The Wizards come into the bout with a record of 4-2. Washingtonville won 78-54 in their recent non-league bout against St. John's Prep (Astoria, NY)

Next up, the play the Queensbury Spartans (Queensbury, NY) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 3. Green Tech will attempt to upgrade on its 6-1 season record. The Spartans come into the bout with a 5-1 record after their 65-62 non-league win over Columbia (East Greenbush, NY).
