Iowa High School Basketball - Independence ripped by Omaha Lightning

(February 3, 2012: Independence, IA 50644) The Omaha Lightning basketball team scored 82 points and held the host Independence Mustangs to 28 in the non-league triumph on Friday.

The now sport a 13-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Fellowship for Athletes HomeSchool for a non-league contest on Saturday, February 4. Omaha Lightning will confront a Defenders team coming off a 73-68 non-league loss to Omaha Lightning (Omaha, NE). The Defenders record now stands at 6-3.

The Mustangs (0-20) will now prepare for their contest against Oelwein (Oelwein, IA). The Huskies enter the non-league contest with a 5-12 record. In their last contest, Oelwein was routed by Waverly-Shell Rock (Waverly, IA), 76-39, in a league contest.
