(October 6, 2011: Garden Grove, CA 92845) In Thursday's non-league game, the Pacifica Mariners (Garden Grove, CA) football team were victorious over the visiting Westminster Lions (Westminster, CA), by a score of 19-7.
The Mariners (2-3) will now prepare for their game against Kennedy (La Palma, CA). The Fighting Irish come into the Empire game with a 2-4 record. In their last game, Kennedy was knocked off by Valencia (Placentia, CA), 24-14, in a league game.
The Lions now sport a 1-4 record. They take the field next when they host Ocean View for a Golden West game on Friday, October 14. Westminster will meet a Seahawks team coming off a 50-8 non-league win over Saddleback (Santa Ana, CA). The Seahawks record now stands at 2-3.
