(January 9, 2009: Lecanto, FL 34461) Lecanto Panthers (Lecanto, FL) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting North Marion Colts (Citra, FL), 92-66 in a league bout.

With the victory, Lecanto upgrades its record to 8-3 on the campaign. The Panthers host Crystal River (Crystal River, FL) to play the Pirates in a 4A District 6 bout on Tuesday, January 13. The Pirates come into the bout with a record of 1-11. Crystal River lost 66-48 in their recent league bout against Citrus (Inverness, FL)

Next up, the Colts play the West Port Wolf Pack (Ocala, FL) in a 4A District 6 bout, on Tuesday, January 13. North Marion will attempt to upgrade on its 5-10 season record. The Wolf Pack come into the bout with a 7-3 record after their 55-51 non-league loss to Gainesville (Gainesville, FL).
