Arizona High School Basketball - Desert Vista over Maricopa

(January 27, 2012: Maricopa, AZ 85239) Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Desert Vista Thunder (Phoenix, AZ) and the host Maricopa Rams (Maricopa, AZ), saw Desert Vista's basketball squad knock off Maricopa by a score of 59-46.

With the victory, Desert Vista improves its record to 18-7 on the campaign. The Thunder host Mountain Pointe (Phoenix, AZ) to battle the Pride in a I Section III challenge on Thursday, February 2. The Pride come into the challenge with a record of 13-9.

Next up, the Rams battle the Casa Grande Cougars (Casa Grande, AZ) in a II Section I challenge, on Monday, January 30. Maricopa will attempt to improve on its 11-14 season record. The Cougars come into the challenge with a 13-10 record after their 97-63 non-league loss to Basha (Chandler, AZ).
