Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Keystone thwarts Venango Catholic

(January 9, 2009: Knox, PA 16232) The Keystone Panthers (Knox, PA) basketball felled the visiting Venango Catholic Vikings (Oil City, PA), 77-60 in Friday's league test.

The Panthers (10-1) will now prepare for their test against Punxsutawney (Punxsutawney, PA). The Chucks go into the non-league test with a 7-2 record. In their last test, Punxsutawney defeated Elk County Catholic (St. Marys, PA), 38-37, in a league test.

The Vikings now own a 4-6 record. They take the field next when they host North Clarion for a Keystone Shortway - North test on Monday, January 12. Venango Catholic will clash with a Wolves squad coming off a 86-53 league win over West Forest (Tionesta, PA). The Wolves record now stands at 9-0.
