(September 29, 2006: Glen Gardner, NJ 08826) Somerville Pioneers (Somerville, NJ) followers exited the stadium content Friday as they observed their football squad hold off the host Voorhees Vikings (Glen Gardner, NJ), 28-21 in a non-league challenge.
The Pioneers now sport a 3-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to North Plainfield for a Skyland - Raritan challenge on Friday, October 6. Somerville will confront a Canucks squad coming off a 21-7 non-league loss to Rahway (Rahway, NJ). The Canucks record now stands at 3-1.
With the defeat, Voorhees moves to 2-1 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to Ridge (Basking Ridge, NJ) to confront the Red Devils in a Skyland - Delaware West challenge on Friday, October 6. The Red Devils go into the challenge with a record of 2-1. Ridge won 32-25 in their recent league challenge against Warren Hills Regional (Washington, NJ)
