California High School Basketball - Piedmont Hills can't hold off Pioneer

(January 12, 2012: San Jose, CA 95132) The Pioneer Mustangs basketball team scored 39 points and restricted the host Piedmont Hills Pirates to 33 in the Mustangs league victory on Thursday.

The Mustangs now sport a 6-6 record. They play next when they host Santa Teresa for a Mount Hamilton contest on Saturday, January 14. Pioneer will meet a Saints team coming off a 50-47 league loss to Leigh (San Jose, CA). The Saints record now stands at 8-6.

The Pirates (11-3) will now prepare for their match against Oak Grove (San Jose, CA). The Eagles enter the Mount Hamilton match with a 7-6 record. In their last match, Oak Grove was nipped by Mt. Pleasant (San Jose, CA), 49-48, in a league match.
