California High School Basketball - South thwarts Torrance

(January 11, 2012: Torrance, CA 90503) The South Spartans (Torrance, CA) basketball felled the host Torrance Tartars (Torrance, CA), 46-32 in Wednesday's league test.

The Spartans (12-6) will now prepare for their test against North (Torrance, CA). The Saxons go into the Pioneer test with a 9-9 record. In their last test, North defeated Centennial (Compton, CA), 44-40, in a league test.

The Tartars now own a 5-6 record. They take the field next when they host Lawndale for a Pioneer test on Friday, January 13. Torrance will clash with a Cardinals squad coming off a 48-32 league loss to El Segundo (El Segundo, CA). The Cardinals record now stands at 8-8.
