(January 31, 2012: Springfield, OR 97478) The Sheldon Irish (Eugene, OR) basketball crushed the host Thurston Colts (Springfield, OR), 59-35 in Tuesday's league test.
The Irish (14-4) will now prepare for their test against Marist (Eugene, OR). The Spartans go into the non-league test with a 10-8 record. In their last test, Marist was trounced by Springfield (Springfield, OR), 56-43, in a league test.
The Colts now own a 5-13 record. They take the field next when they travel to South Eugene for a 6A Special District 1 test on Thursday, February 2. Thurston will clash with a Axemen squad coming off a 50-27 non-league loss to Willamette (Eugene, OR). The Axemen record now stands at 8-10.
